The City of Jyväskylä will discontinue the use of Business Jyväskylä brand – in the future, the service area will be called Business Development Services

The change is partly linked to the national TE2025 reform, in which municipalities take over the responsibility for employment and business services from the government. The change will further intensify the joint work of the city's business and employment services. The name change is intended to clarify the transition phase and make it easier to find the provided services after the reform. Business Jyväskylä's current website and social media channels will continue to operate under the new name and look of Business Development Services. 

According to the decision by Parliament, municipalities will organise employment and business services from 1 January 2025. The existing Employment and Economic Development Offices (TE Services) will be abolished. The personnel performing the tasks to be transferred from the state, will be transferred to municipalities or joint municipal authorities by means of a transfer of business, and TE services will be transferred from the state to municipalities as part of the business and employment services. 

- The change in the City's operations in 2025 will be significant and will increase the number of both corporate and private customers. We want to prepare for and invest in operational and organisational change in advance. The aim of the TE reform is to promote, in the best possible way, the rapid employment of workers and to increase the productivity, availability, effectiveness and diversity of employment and economic development services, as well as the availability of skilled labour and business growth. By renewing the sector, we will be able to respond to the needs of business life even better in the future, says Ari Tolonen, Director of Economic Development and Employment at the City of Jyväskylä.  

The change will harmonise and clarify the City's business services and make them easier to find.  

The need to clarify and harmonise communication has been raised in the context of the forthcoming changes. Until now, the City of Jyväskylä's Business Development Services have used the Business Jyväskylä name and logo. In the future, the names and logos will be harmonised with other services of the City organisation in order to improve the findability and clarity of services.  

The use of the Business Jyväskylä name and logo will be phased out by the end of 2023. In the future, businesses will be able to find services aimed at the local companies under the name and logo of the City of Jyväskylä's Business Development Services. Business Jyväskylä's website and social media channels will remain, but their name and visual identifiers will change to the name and logo of the City of Jyväskylä Business Development Services.  

- Although the names and codes will change, business services will continue to operate as usual. The channel IDs and names will be aligned with other services provided by the City organisation. The keyword Business Jyväskylä will continue to be used to access the Business Services' communication channels and business information sources during the transition period, for example through redirects. We will inform our customers and stakeholders separately once the channels have changed and the new website addresses and social media IDs are in use, says Suvi Vuojolainen, Marketing Manager at the City of Jyväskylä.  

In the future, the website of Business Development Services will be available at elinkeinopalvelut.jyvaskyla.fi. The social media channels Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram will be available after the changes are completed with the keywords: Jyväskylän kaupungin elinkeinopalvelut.
